Psychosocial support Program

The Psychosocial Support Program (PSSP) at our centre offers interventions to support vulnerable children, young people, teen mothers, caregivers, and grandmothers who are facing emotional, psychological, social, and behavioural challenges. While we provide services like educational support, nutrition, and medical assistance to Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC) and other vulnerable groups, we recognize the importance of supporting those who are grieving, traumatized, stigmatised, abused, or neglected.

Better Tomorrow Community Centre care services help in moulding socially adjusted, self-sustaining, healthy and responsible citizens. Psychosocial support services (PSS) being implored by Better Tomorrow are:

  • building community capacity to recognise and respond to psychosocial distress

  • memory work

  • therapeutic activities (music and dance, art, speak out sessions, role plays, sports, poetry)

  • life-skills’ support (parenting skills, boosting self-confidence, assertiveness and cognitive skills)

  • community-based camps and excursions

  • support groups including for children, adolescents and grandmothers
